Branding & Design Consultant (with Jenn Murray)

how do DIY your own web design interview with jenn murray
These entrepreneurs are basically trying to become graphic designers and web designers and branding experts, on top of running their business. They need something like the “For Dummies” books. It’s not that you’re stupid, it’s just that you just need the bare bones of, from an entrepreneurial business perspective, what do I need to know about this.

Starting your own business can be quite the undertaking.  You have to learn about SO much in order to get your business off the ground.  One of those things that is increasingly taking up entrepreneurs’ time is simply trying to look good.  Nice design, tight branding…things that give the appearance that you actually know what you’re doing.  Things that show the world that you belong here.  The problem is that most entrepreneurs have no idea how to make great design or great branding, so they either spend a lot of money to hire someone to do it for them or they spend time and frustration trial and erroring their way to something decent.  Today’s guest, Jenn Murray, is here to put an end to that.

Sometimes as business owners we’re just so overwhelmed by all the things we need to do and we look around us and we’re like, “oh they’re website is so nice” or “their branding is so nice”, so there’s all this pressure. But really theres some practical things you can do to just take things in steps and you’ll be fine.

Remember it’s business, it’s always fluid. Just start off, and get that snowball rolling, and if you need to make changes down the road you can make them. Just because you design something one way doesn’t mean you can’t change it the next day.
